Privacy
Policy.

We collect as little as possible and use it to make the app work. That's it.

The short version.

Menu is made by Enen Studios, a one-person studio. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Menu app, how we use it, and what control you have over it.

We built Menu because we believe apps should respect the people who use them. That extends to privacy. We don't sell your data. We don't show you ads. We don't share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

"Your recipes are yours. We don't read them, analyse them, or use them for anything other than showing them back to you."

What we collect, and why.

We only collect information that's necessary to make the app function. Here's what that looks like:

Account information. If you create an account, we store your email address and a securely hashed password. This is used solely to let you log in and sync your data across devices.
Your recipes and meal plans. The recipes you save and plans you create are stored securely so the app can show them back to you. We do not read or process this content for any other purpose.
Basic usage data. We collect minimal, anonymised data on app usage — such as which features are used — to help us improve Menu. This data cannot be used to identify you.
Crash reports. If the app crashes, we may receive an anonymised crash log. This helps us fix bugs. It does not include your personal information or recipe data.

We do not collect location data, payment information, contacts, or any data not listed above.

How your data is used.

We use the information we collect only to:

Provide and maintain the Menu app
Sync your recipes and meal plans across your devices
Fix bugs and improve the app experience
Respond to your support requests

We will never use your data to serve you advertisements, build a profile about you, or share your information with third parties for commercial purposes.

Your data, your rights.

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your data at any time. You can:

Export your data. Request a copy of all the data we hold about you at any time by emailing us.
Delete your account. You can delete your account and all associated data from within the app settings, or by emailing us. Deletion is permanent and complete.
Correct your information. If any information we hold about you is inaccurate, you can update it in-app or contact us to correct it.

If you are based in the UK or EU, you have additional rights under the UK GDPR and GDPR respectively, including the right to object to processing and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Third parties and services.

Menu uses a small number of third-party services to function. These are limited to infrastructure providers (such as database and hosting services) that we trust to handle data securely and that are contractually prohibited from using your data for their own purposes.

We do not use advertising networks, social media tracking pixels, or analytics tools that share your data with third parties. We do not integrate with Facebook, Google Analytics, or similar services.

We will never sell your personal data. Ever.

Children's privacy.

Menu is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy.

If we make significant changes to this privacy policy, we will notify you within the app or by email before the changes take effect. The date at the top of this page reflects when it was last updated.

We commit to never making changes that reduce your privacy protections without clear advance notice.
